Abstract
Introduction: Considering the long history of the MPH courses and the importance of this course in the health system of the country, this study conducted to assess the professional status and performance evaluation of graduates who attended to MPH at the Faculty of Health of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This cross-sectional survey included a sample size of 160 MPH graduated participants from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2002-2003. A stratified random sampling method was used based on the school year and gender. A researcher-made questionnaire used to assess the research and managerial achievements, as well as assess the satisfaction of the graduates from the course. The reliability and validity of the study were confirmed.
Results: The response rate was 37%. The mean of total satisfaction of participants was 6.59 ± 2.13. (of 9-0.) The average score of the person's ability to perform important and essential activities related to the health system before passing the course, (2.9 ± 2.67), 4.67 ± 1.66, and after passing this course, (3.19) was 7.8 ± 1.41. (The score was 9-0.) The evaluation of participants in the study of their ability after passing the course was significantly higher than before the course. (p< 0.001).
Conclusion: In this context, it is necessary to update the content of the curriculum and teaching methods by examining the needs of the community and collecting the views of the graduates of the titles and content of the courses and teaching methods.
